GoTriangle to bring back more service starting Aug. 6

GoTriangle to bring back more service starting Aug. 6

Starting August 6, GoTriangle will begin restoring more service that was cut due to the national bus operator shortage as the agency continues to attract more operators. GoTriangle will restore service on weekend Routes 100, 300, 400, 700 and 800 and weekday Routes 805 and DRX. For details, view our website.

“We’re offering more service as our ranks of operators grow,” says Vinson Hines Jr., GoTriangle’s chief of operations and director of transit operations. “In March, we were able to bring back some of the trips on our popular CRX and DRX routes after GoTriangle worked hard to attract and retain operators during the shortage. We created our own in-house driver training program and raised operator salaries. With our excellent benefits package as a draw, we’ve been successful in hiring more operators.”

GoTriangle will take over operation of Route 300 weekend service on Sunday, Aug. 6, and Route DRX changes will start Monday, Aug. 7. Route 805 will be restored to 30-minute weekday service on August 7.   All other service changes on routes run on Saturdays, so they will go into effect on Saturday, August 12.
