FEB. 15, 2021 – Thousands of households across Durham, Orange, Wake and portions of Chatham, Franklin, Granville, Harnett, Johnston, Nash and Person counties have been randomly selected to participate in an important survey about travel habits in the Triangle.

Households that receive the invitation by mail can complete the survey online at triangletravelsurvey.com, by phone or through a smartphone app developed by project consultant RSG.  Random sampling is an important part of making sure the survey represents all Triangle residents.

The North Carolina Department of Transportation, GoTriangle, the Capital Area Metropolitan Planning Organization and the Durham-Chapel Hill-Carrboro Metropolitan Planning Organization will use the survey results to better understand local travel needs and to identify transportation priorities for the region.

The survey – administered by the Institute for Transportation Research and Education at NC State University every two years since 2016 – is especially critical this year as COVID-19 continues to influence typical travel patterns.

If you are invited to fill out the survey, please participate in helping our region address our transportation needs.
