GoTriangle Sending Additional Bus to Help People Leaving Chapel Hill

GoTriangle is sending an additional bus to help people trying to leave Chapel Hill this afternoon due to closures and the state of emergency declaration in the Town of Chapel Hill stemming from the water shortage.

An additional 800 route bus will be on the way to Chapel Hill shortly to pick up people currently waiting at the South Road at Fetzer Gym stop. The bus will continue on to Streets at Southpoint mall in Durham, where passengers can transfer to other locations.

The regular 800 service between Chapel Hill, Southpoint and the Regional Transit Center will continue for the rest of the afternoon and early evening, following the usual schedule. Because of the anticipated high volume of traffic in and around Chapel Hill Friday afternoon, some routes may take longer and stop arrival times could be impacted.

GoTriangle is urging customers to look for real time updates through the online planner using TransLoc or by calling the Regional Call Center at 919-485-RIDE (7433).

In addition to GoTriangle service today, the Robertson Scholar Express between UNC and Duke with end at 7pm tonight.
