Voters in Durham County in 2011 and in Orange County in 2012 approved a transit-dedicated half-cent sales tax investment to expand and better connect the public transit network in each county and throughout the Triangle region. Since then, GoDurham and GoTriangle have added 114,437 hours of new service in Durham County, and Chapel Hill Transit, Orange County Public Transportation and GoTriangle have added 67,528 hours of new service in Orange County. It’s never been easier for Triangle residents to avoid traffic and take transit and to access more job and educational opportunities.
